Calafate Classic Tour
Departure by plane from from Bs As airport to Calafate. Upon arrival in El Calafate Airport our tourist guide will meet you in order to give you the pick up time for each activity and transfer you to your Hotel in El Calafate town, where you can check in and enjoy free time in the afternoon.
After breakfast in the Hotel we will pick you up in the lobby to start a full-day tour entitled "Perito Moreno glacier and Nautical Safari" which is one of the main attractions of Argentina. This one day tour through Los Glaciares National Park offers incredible views of the most famous Patagonian glacier, the Perito Moreno, which you will visit with our tour guide along wooden paths.
The Tour begins with a trip from El Calafate town to Los Glaciares National Park which is located 40 kms (about 25 miles) away. This Park is an area of exceptional natural beauty declared a Natural Heritage by UNESCO. This is the classic tour to get to know the Perito Moreno glacier and the best option to get a general view and see it from above. It also gives you the opportunity to really appreciate the enormous magnitude of the glacier, while walking through the footbridges along the shores of Lake Argentino. The tour continues until you reach the trails of the Perito Moreno Glacier where you will have free time to get to know this impressive 80 meter high (262 feet) ice wall.
After that you will take the Nautical safari departing from Bajo las Sombras port where you will board a ship to navigate the Lago Rico where your will be able to appreciate the amazing ice wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier and its icebergs. From this comfortable ship you will have a completely different perspective because 400 meters from the southern wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier, the boat stops for a few minutes to take a closer look at the landscape. You can not get any closer to the glacier and its rupture!
